I'M NOT SURE OF THE NAME OF THE CAVE BUT IT WAS LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF LOOKOUT MT. ON THE GEORGIA SIDE I THINK. WE WENT UP A GRAVEL ROAD TO A SMALL PARKING LOT. WALKED ACROSS THE ROAD JUST BEHIND THE TREELINE AND FOUND A SMALL CORKSCREW CAVE INTRANCE. ABOUT TWENTYFIVE FEET OR SO PAST THIS INTRANCE IT OPENED UP TWO A VERY LARGE CAVERN LITERED WITH BOULDERS OF ROCK AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CAVERN. THE CAVERN WAS A LONG RECTANGLE SHAPE. THE GROUP I WENT WITH HAD BEEN THERE BEFORE. THEY TOOK ME THROUGH ONE OF THE TUNNELS THAT STARTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE RECTANGLULAR ROOM. IT TOOK US PAST WHAT THEY CALLED THE PANCAKE. WE MADE IT TO A SPOT WHERE WE NEEDED ANOTHER ROPE TO PROGRESS DOWNWARD(THERE WAS A ROPE THERE ALREADY BUT IT HAD ROTTED). I WAS HEART BROKEN. WE WERE STANDING ABOUT KNEE DEEP IN WATER AND I COULD HEAR A WATER FALL IN THE DISTANCE. PLEASE!!!!!! IF ANYONE KNOWS OF THIS CAVE PLEASE GIVE ME A LOCATION OF IT. I WOULD LIKE TO GO BACK. |
